About us

One On One Community Based Programmes hereinafter referred to as One On One is a Companies and Intellectual Properties Commission (formerly CIPRO) registered not for profit company, whose main focus is education, training; research, development and health at instructional / education level.

The company has also been granted exemption from income tax as it meets the Public Benefit Organization (PBO) requirements as laid down by the South African Revenue Services Tax Exemption Unit (SARS TEU) in terms of Section 18A of the Income Tax Act.

Although operating from its head office in Alberton, its mandate extends to all nine South African provinces for tax treatment purposes in terms of Section 18A of the Income Tax Act, and assistance of other Southern African countries with cognitive input without tax exemption benefits with the exception of Lesotho where the company has the same registration status.

Vision

To promote, advance and develop education; training and research processes at all learning levels through all learning institutions without limitations, for and behalf of the South African communities.

Mission

The mission of the organization is to bring the vision to reality by employing numerous practical approaches including, among others;

the coordination of public private partnerships for the delivery of cognitive content and solutions, the facilitation of awareness campaigns to encourage public private partnerships;

the facilitation of workshops and conferences to encourage constructive debates on key subjects as well as enhance skills development projects to increase the number of practitioners in South Africa.

    Conduct all business activities in a responsible and transparent manner, as well as demonstrate the fact that the organization is an important custodian of assets it’s been entrusted with in favor of the beneficiaries.


Accreditation

One On One Community has been verified by BEE Online in accordance with the Codes of Good Practice issued under Section 9(1) of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act No 53 of 2003 on the 9th of February 2007. This means that One On One Community Based Programmes has moved from a Level Four Contributor to a Level One Contributor according the revised BBBEE Verification Codes.


Our Team Members

  • 1. Doc Sethole

    Doc Sethole holds a B Com Hons Degree from Wits, a Diploma in Pedagogics from the University of the North; and numerous other qualifications including Counselling Certificates. Doc is a Founding Director and Chairperson of One On One Community Based Programmes, and serves Edunova (NPO) as Director as well as Study Trust as Executive Trustee Member. A former Director at Prudential Investment Managers, Doc still consults for the company in the business development and corporate social investments areas.

  • 2. Victor Sethole

    Victor Sethole holds a B Com Finance Degree from the University of Johannesburg, and is responsible for Finance as Director of One On One Community Based Programmes.

  • 3. Joseph Sethole

    Joseph Sethole holds a BA Audio Visual Communication Degree from the University of Johannesburg, and is responsible for Media as Director of One On One Community Based Programmes. The size of the board of directors is subject to change through appointments of sector focused expertise with specific reference to STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics).



Our Goals


The team assembled to lead One On One Community Based Programmes comprises of different skill sets to enhance a holistic delivery of solutions to educators and learners alike.

One On One Community Based Programmes therefore seeks to achieve the following goals over the next ten years:

Work towards the provision of adequate and effective teaching at pre-tertiary level of all core subjects inclusive of mathematics, science; accounting and other pertinent subjects over time.

Increase the number of quality passes in all core subjects including mathematics, science; accounting and other pertinent subjects categorized as Gateway Subjects over time.

Ensure that the introduction of the new curriculum that raised the cognitive demand of core subjects in 2006 be addressed through the provision of extra curricula classes to close gaps created by weak foundations from lower grades.

Provide “open days and career guidance” opportunities to enable learners to choose career paths and fields of study earlier whilst intervention mechanisms are still available and applicable.

Ensure effectiveness of public private partnerships to create employment opportunities for interns and retired professionals through learner training projects at pre-tertiary level.
